The Annual Sandringham Flower Show

2010

Another good year for Greycat Gardeners, where our Art Deco showgarden received The Peoples Choice - Best in Show Small Showgarden award. It is particularly pleasing to receive this award, which is given to the garden receiving the most public votes and we would like to thank everyone who voted for us. Once again, many of our plants were supplied by Charisma Plant Centre at Swainsthorpe. The ‘plant stars’ this year were Hydrangea paniculata ‘Pinky Winky’ and the drumstick alliums, Allium sphaerocephalum - beloved by public and bees alike!

2009

Greycat Gardeners were delighted to be awarded a Gold Medal for their 2009 showgarden at Sandringham. Judges Chris Beardshaw and Alan Mason commented particularly on the subtle use of colour in the planting. Many of the plants in the showgarden were supplied by Charisma Plant Centre at Swainsthorpe and the much admired griffin statue is one of a range made by Pheebert’s. The blue tree, which attracted a huge amount of attention, is an Acacia baileyana ‘Purpurea’ and the curved bench beneath, originally made for a P&O cruise ship, was on loan from Martincraft of Beccles

2008

Our 2008 showgarden, which was awarded a Silver Medal by the judges, had a contemporary look on 3 levels. The pale coloured timber blended well with the wicker garden furniture and a wrought iron trellis panel gave height to the design. The planting was in shades of lime, blue and white, with dramatic splashes of deep crimson provided by Dahlia ‘Soulman’ and the foliage of Heuchera ‘Can Can’.
